China: 2011 sees record natural gas output

China's natural gas output reached a record high of 101.11 billion cubic meters in 2011, up 7.3 percent year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Land and Resources.
Ordos in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Tarim Basin in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and Sichuan Basin in Sichuan Province remained the three main production regions.
In 2011, 765.95 billion cubic meters of geological reserves of natural gas were discovered, up 27.60 percent year-on-year. Two gas fields with reserves above 100 billion cubic meters were found.
