PT Bumi Resources (BUMI.JK) expects its 2011 sales increased by 34% to $5.85 billion from $4.37 billion a year earlier, mostly due to an increase in sales volumes and a higher average selling price for its coal, an official at the company said Wednesday.
"We sold around 63 million metric tons of coal, up from 60 million tons a year earlier, priced at an average of $92.7 per ton, compared with $71 per ton a year earlier," Bumi Director Dileep Srivastava told Dow Jones Newswires.
He expects coal sales volume to continue to increase to 75 million tons this year at an average price of $89-$90 per ton.
He said the thermal coal producer expects its coal sales volume to peak at 100 million tons by 2014.
Bumi is expected to announce its audited 2011 financial statement in March.
