French crude steel output up by 11pct YoY in January - FFA

According to the latest data regarding crude steel production in France released by the French Steel Federation, French crude steel production amounted to 1,357,950 tonnes in January 2012, up by 11.1% YoY and up by 22.59% MoM.
In January 2012, steel production in France using electric arc furnaces rose by 12.8% YoY, amounting to 535,050 tonnes, while steel production with blast furnace technology totaled 822,900 tonnes, increasing by 10.1% YoY.
Meanwhile, the FFA also noted that domestic crude steel production in January 2012 was still 15.7% below the January 2008 production figure.
