Russia's Shipbuilding Corp. approves $31bln backlog of orders

Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corporation has approved a backlog of orders worth 1 trillion rubles (more than $31 billion), with 200 billion rubles ($6.2 billion) to be spent on civil-purpose ships, the corporartion's representative Dmitry Sapov told the World Marine Technology Conference in Saint Petersburg which is attended by experts from 20 countries.
Mr. Sapov added that the corporation also deals with the construction of drilling platforms, one of them called ‘Prirazlomnaya’ scheduled to start drilling for oil in early 2013.
