Shanghai port continues throughput growth

The Chinese port of Shanghai recorded higher container throughput year-on-year in April but volumes remained stable compared to the previous month.
Shanghai port registered throughput of 2.72m teu in April, a 2.5% year-on-year increase from 2.65m teu in the same period of 2011, according to figures from Shanghai International Port (Group) Co.
In the first four months of this year, Shanghai counted 10.25m teu of throughput, a 3.2% increase from 9.93m teu recorded in the corresponding period of last year.
