Russia's gas output drops 10.1% on year in May to 51.858 BCM

Russia produced 51.858 billion cubic meters of natural gas in May, down 10.1% year on year, according to preliminary data released by the energy ministry.
Of the total, state-owned gas giant Gazprom produced 37.581 Bcm, down 15.7% from a year earlier, the ministry said.
Russia's gas exports dropped 29.4% year on year to 12.502 Bcm in May, while its own gas supply fell 17% to 27.840 Bcm.
The country's gas production totaled 292.682 Bcm over January through May, down 1.6% year on year, the ministry said.
The country's coal production rose 6.9% year on year to 27.437 million mt in May, of which 11.106 million mt were exported, up 16.4% from the year before.
Russia's coal production totaled at 141.080 million mt over January-May, up 5.1% from a year ago.
