China exported 1.28 million mt of coal in May, up 45.5% year on year, preliminary data released Sunday by the General Administration of Customs showed.
But in the first five months of this year, China exported 5.3 million mt of coal, down 34.1% year on year.
China exported 140,000 mt of coke in May, down 68.9% year on year. Over January-May, China exported 430,000 mt of coke, down 79.8% year on year.
