Italian-Croatian consortium to build container terminal in Croatia's Rijeka Port

A EUR70.5m contract to design and build a container terminal in the northern Croatian city of Rijeka was signed by a consortium comprising three Italian companies and a Croatian company and by the Rijeka Port Authority.
The construction of the new terminal is one of the main components of the Rijeka Gateway project, the purpose of which is to reconstruct and modernise the Port of Rijeka, HINA news agency reported. Its first stage is financially supported by the World Bank, while the second stage will be funded by a public-private partnership. The work is expected to be finished in 2016.
