Daiichi Chuo Kisen of Japan has placed an order for one 12,000-dwt twin-decker bulker at Shin Kurushima Dockyard, with delivery by May 2013. It ordered two identical ships at the same yard last year plus two more at Sasaki Shipbuilding all of which are being delivered this year. Daiichi Chuo is placing great emphasis on domestic transportation in the wake of the global financial crisis.
