MISC Bhd (3816.KU), the world's largest operator of liquefied natural gas carriers, said Thursday that a fire broke out onboard its chemical tanker Bunga Alpinia at 1830 GMT alongside a terminal in Labuan, an island off East Malaysia.
The ship has 29 crew members, of which 23 are Malaysians and 6 Filipinos, MISC said, adding that 24 have been safely brought ashore, while five others are still unaccounted for.
The vessel was alongside the Petronas Methanol Sdn Bhd terminal when the incident took place, MISC said.
