The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has released the report of the 2012 Article IV mission for Botswana. The report reviews the current macroeconomic policy stance in the light of recent economic developments. Fund staff estimate that, amid the fragile global economic environment, the domestic economy will grow by 4 percent in real terms in 2012. The current combination of tight fiscal policy together with a more accommodative monetary policy is seen as appropriate. In addition, a separate " selected issues" paper has also been published which reviews items of topical interest (growth and inequality, and employment creation) in greater detail.
