Marco Polo adds third dry dock facility

Marine logistics group Marco Polo Marine has completed and commissioned its third dry dock in Batam, Indonesia. The third dry dock is capable of docking merchant vessels of up to 45,000 dwt, according to Marco Polo.The company said the newest dry dock will allow it to take advantage of the “buoyant demand for ship repair and conversion business boosted by the regional thriving commodity shipping, oil and gas activities in the region.”The enhanced ship repair operations are expected to contribute to the revenue of the group for the financial year ending 30 September 2012, the Singapore-listed company said.
