Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company opens subsidiary Caspian Marine Service in Astrakhan
CJSC Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (AXDG) has opened a subsidiary company in Astrakhan, Caspian Marine Service, and plans to participate in the projects of special economic zone “Lotus”.
The government of the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation informs that yesterday region’s governor Alexander Zhilkin had a meeting with AXDG president Rauf Veliyev.
“We opened a sound company and it is registered in Astrakhan. We will consider opportunities of both transit traffic between the ports and the participation of our company in projects of LUKOIL in the north of the Caspian Sea,” Veliyev said at the meeting.
In turn, Zhilkin wished success to the new subsidiary and added that in Astrakhan there are a number of sites that may be of interest to Azerbaijani business. “In particular, it is free economic zone “Lotus”, aimed at the market of the Caspian region and providing benefits for residents,” Zhilkin said.
Veliyev pointed out that some of the vessels of the shipping company are located in Astrakhan and they will need services for their on-site repair. Alexander Zhilkin and Rauf Veliyev also discussed plans on ferry traffic through the Olya port.
Caspian Marine Service is headed by Zamig Ismayilov. The company has passed registration in Astrakhan as a separate legal entity.
