Hanseaticsoft makes shipping companies mobile and grows by more than 150 percent
While developing the first version of the Cloud Fleet Manager, Hanseaticsoft already hoped to hit the nerve of shipping companies, but the development of the company during the last years exceeded the expectations by far. Only in the last year the number of customers increased from 6 to 16 – a growth of more than 150 percent. By now 22 employees are working at Hanseaticsoft on cloud based solutions that allow shipping companies to operate mobile from anywhere in the world. To the famous shipping companies on the list of customers belong Peter Döhle, NSC and E.R. Schifffahrt.
Moreover Hanseaticsoft works for international shipping companies such as Asiatic Lloyd and UASC. Recently in March the Cloud Fleet Manager was awarded as BEST OF with the IT INNOVATION PRIZE. “We are so proud of what we have achieved within this short amount of time” says Alexander Buchmann, CEO of Hanseaticsoft. The business idea sounds simple: With a three-person team the IT specialists developed a business software for shipping companies that optimizes data quality and speed of data exchange due to more efficient communication processes. In doing so they orientated on the design and simplicity of a smartphone. “Our motivation is to make shipping companies ready for the future, by showing complex processes with easy-to-use software” explains Buchmann. “By now not only our existing customers understood that this is the way to save time and money. After all up to 25 percent of working time is wasted to search for information. With our Cloud Fleet Manager searching is not necessary anymore.” Another successful recipe from Hanseaticsoft is the Inspection Report. It reduces the time of a ship inspection from several weeks to only a day.
Among others Hanseaticsoft´s client E.R. Schifffahrt uses the Inspection Report. Christian Rother, team leader IT projects of the E.R. Group explains: “Within only a short amount of time the Inspection Report was connected to our own software and leads due to its modern technology to user acceptance and a direct win of efficiency.” For the future Hanseaticsoft bets on the mobility principle without making compromises when it comes to usability. An example: The Inspection Report supports with Continuum a new function that turns a smartphone into a mini computer. Therefore a ship inspector is able to connect his Windows 10 smartphone to a monitor to continue his work on a big screen without the need of additional downloads. Currently the team is working on more modules that are available as well in the browser as on mobile devices.
