Dredging works at Temasek Fairway
Wednesday, January 11, 2017, Singapore

From 12 January to 28 February, dredging works will be carried out in Temasek Fairway, within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 1 deg. 15.140’N / 103 deg. 39.079’E
2) 1 deg. 15.181’N / 103 deg. 39.179’E
3) 1 deg. 14.654’N / 103 deg. 39.392’E
4) 1 deg. 14.613’N / 103 deg. 39.292’E
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.5 of 2017, the works will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays.
Dredging works will be carried out by grab dredger, supported by hopper barges and pusher tugs. The grab dredger will be held in position by spuds- systems within the working area.
The safety zone is a circular area of 100m radius centred at the dredger.
Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control); and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.

Reclamation & soil investigation works off Tuas

Reclamation and soil investigations works are underway off Tuas and will continue until 2 July.
According to the Maritime and Port of Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.01 of 2017, the work is being carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – west of the ALGAS Anchorage, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 14.291’N / 103 deg. 36.979’E
2) 01 deg. 14.200’N / 103 deg. 37.005’E
3) 01 deg. 14.214’N / 103 deg. 37.352’E
4) 01 deg. 12.800’N / 103 deg. 38.024’E
5) 01 deg. 13.118’N / 103 deg. 36.764’E
6) 01 deg. 14.182’N / 103 deg. 36.764’E
7) 01 deg. 14.182’N / 103 deg. 36.742’E
8) 01 deg. 14.290’N / 103 deg. 36.742’E
The reclamation and sand re-handling works will involve removal of rock shore protection and sand re-handling at designated Sand Borrow Area.
Soil investigation work will be carried out by means of borehole drilling using jack-up barges. One jack-up barge will be working on one borehole at a time. The jack-up barge, with tug boats in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 50 meters radius centered at the barge. Tugboats will be used for shifting the barge from one borehole location to another.
Safety boats will be deployed in the vicinity of the working area to warn other craft of the project.
