13 port tenders planned in Brazil

13 port terminal tenders are due to be executed in Brazil by the end of the year.

The tenders relate to the ports of Paranaguá (PR), Santos (SP), Vila do Conde (PA), Itaqui (MA), Aratu (BA), Itaguaí (RJ), Porto Alegre and Maceió, said the regulation superintendent and chairman of the National Agency for Water Transportation’s (ANTAQ) permanent leasing tender committee, Bruno Pinheiro.

This was confirmed during a meeting on 29 July with the Executive Secretariat of the Ministry of Infrastructure, at the Agency’s headquarters, in Brasília.

At the Port of Santos. ANTAQ will carry out tender processes for two pulp handling areas on 28 August. Investments for these two areas will be approximately R$380.8m.

For January 2021, four more tenders are expected. There will be two areas for Itaqui (liquid fuels); one for Maceió (liquid bulk – sulfuric acid) and one for Macapá (soybean meal). Total investments are R$294.5m.
