Armada Technologies Welcomes Robert G. Shaw as Non-Executive Director to their Board

Armada Technologies is proud to announce the appointment of Robert G. Shaw as a Non-Executive Director to its Board of Directors. This strategic addition is set to bolster the company’s growth trajectory from start-up to scale-up, driving forward its innovative advancements in hull air lubrication.

Armada Technologies has developed the world’s first Passive Air Lubrication System (PALS). This patented, award-winning system operates in a passive mode, enabling discreet control of system output and decoupling system lubricity from ship speed. As part of this position, Mr. Shaw will leverage his unique perspective and experiences to assist Armada Technologies through various strategic initiatives, including fundraising, business model development, talent acquisition, and retention, as well as overall growth initiatives.

Roger Armson, Chairman of the Board of Armada Technologies, expressed his enthusiasm for the new appointment: “We are thrilled to welcome Robert G. Shaw to our Board. His industry knowledge and leadership experience will be invaluable as we navigate through our next stage of growth through the complexities of scaling our operations and enhancing our strategic roadmap.”

He has served as a director of The Steamship Mutual Underwriting Association (Bermuda) Limited and has held key positions, including independent director of Höegh LNG Partners L.P. when its common shares were listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and president of Navios Maritime Holdings, Inc. Shaw’s background includes practising maritime and corporate law as an associate and partner at Healy & Baillie, LLP in New York City. He has served on various boards and committees, including the Board of Governors of the Society of Maritime Arbitrators, Inc., of which he was past president, and was a U.S. representative member of the Documentary Committee of BIMCO. Shaw received his degree from Oxford University in 1977.

Commenting on his appointment, Robert G. Shaw said: “I am excited to join Armada Technologies at such a pivotal time in its journey. The potential of PALS to transform maritime operations and enhance environmental sustainability is groundbreaking. I look forward to contributing to Armada’s success and helping to further its mission of reducing fuel consumption and promoting a cleaner maritime future.”
