EU Award 77,833 T Of Ukrainian Wheat Quota Imports For February

The European Union has awarded 77,833 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat imports for February under its tariff-rate quota (TRQ) scheme, data published by the European Commission showed.

The award leaves 852,570 tonnes available for the rest of 2022 in the 1 million tonne tranche for Ukrainian wheat, after the EU already granted 69,597 tonnes for January, the data showed.

The bloc also granted 1,210 tonnes of Ukrainian barley imports for February following 19,570 tonnes awarded for this month. There remained 329,220 tonnes available in the annual tranche of 350,000 tonnes.

The Commission did not make any awards for February under wheat import tranches open to other origins.

Like in January, no maize (corn) was awarded in either a 650,000 tonne tranche for Ukraine or a 138,220 tonne tranche open to all origins.
