Russia is one of the main global exporters of hydrocarbons, metals, grain, and mineral fertilizers. Total Russian export in 2018 made $452 billion and compared to 2017 increased by 25,6%.Out of this sum, coal sales reached – $17 billion, ferrous metals – $23,36billion. Volume of fertilizers export in 2018 exceeded $8 billion, moreover, Russia takes the second place in the world in manufacturing of potassium fertilizers.

The total volume of agricultural exports amounted to about $ 26 billion. Traditionally, the main part of Russian agricultural exports is grain (about 40%), followed by sunflower oil (18%) and fish (17%). If the current rate of growth, by 2024 Russia will double the export of agricultural products. In 2017-2018 the export of Russian grain amounted to 52.422 million tons, while 40.449 million tons in this volume was wheat. As a result, according to the results of last year, Russia has become a world leader in the supply of wheat. A few years ago, Russia in this list did not rise above the fourth place. In the new agricultural year, Russia can export 42 million tons of grain, including 36 million tons of wheat.
Concerning barley export, Russia will move to the second place after Australia, corn export – to the fifth place. Russia is also the third in the world in volumes of exported unprocessed timber.

As a rule, Russian export of raw and agricultural products is performed using water transport, whereby, considerable volume of services is ensured in the transport and logistics field. For this very reason, representatives of the largest Russian exporters have been invited to the Russian Maritime Days.

Why Saint Petersburg? Saint Petersburg Sea Port is the largest port in Russia. It handles about 40% of all cargoes that are exported and imported through the Russian sea ports.

Russian Maritime Days is the annually organized shipping industry events for the companies related to marine business. The Gala dinner and the conference that is held for shipowners, charterers, chartering brokers. We have also invited Russian and foreign shipping and forwarding agents, traders, bunkering and stevedore companies, surveyors, underwriters, bankers and marine lawyers.

Russian Maritime Days is aimed to become an attractive shipping business communication platform and a premier opportunity to meet shipowners and top-level executives all at once in Saint Petersburg.

The event will be held for two days. The main events are scheduled for 23rd of May. The “Courtyard St. Petersburg Center West/Pushkin Hotel” hotel will host a conference dedicated to various issues of Maritime business.
