HD Korea Shipbuilding achieves 34% of annual orders

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. (HD KSOE), the intermediate holding company of HD Hyundai Group, has surpassed 30 percent of its annual shipbuilding order target in just one month.
The company’s leading position is attributed to its significant dock holdings and extensive shipbuilding capacity, coupled with a wealth of experience in constructing vessels for the recently emerging category of Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLAC).
According to sources on Monday, HD KSOE secured a contract on February 1 with Greek company Capital Gas for the construction of two liquefied carbon dioxide (LCO2) carriers, totaling 203.4 billion won ($152.4 million). With this agreement, HD KSOE has successfully secured orders for a total of 38 ships this year, amounting to an order value of $4.65 billion.
The recent contract signings have propelled HD KSOE to achieve a remarkable 34.4 percent of its annual order target of $13.5 billion in just one month since the beginning of the year.
