HD KSOE Inks Contract to Build 2 PC Carriers for African Shipping Co.

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) announced on May 19 that it has signed a contract on the construction of two petrochemical carriers (PCs) with an African shipping company. The order is 117.3 billion won (US$88.51 million). The ships will be built by Hyundai Mipo Shipbuilding and will be delivered by July 2026.

HD KSOE has received a total of 79 orders worth US$9.97 billion to date. It has attained 63.3 percent of its annual order target of US$15.74 billion. By ship type, the orders include 25 PC carriers, three tankers, 19 container ships, 16 LNG carriers, 14 LPG carriers, and two medium-sized gas carriers.
