Change to port tariffs

From 1 July 2019, the following changes will be made to tariffs at the following ports:

QUEENSLAND
Conservancy Dues – 2.25% Increase
Pilotage – 2.25% increase

PORT KEMBLA
Pilotage – 3.68% increase

NEWCASTLE
Pilotage – 1.68% increase

PORT BOTANY
Pilotage and Navigation Service Charge – 3.68% increase

Works south of Marına East
Friday, May 24, 2019, Singapore

The working period for works south of Marina East has been extended. They [are now being] conducted from 24 May to 23 November.

According to the Marıtıme and Port Authorıty of Sıngapore Port Marıne Notıce No.044 of 2019, the works are being carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 16.574’N / 103 deg. 52.646’E
2) 01 deg. 16.808’N / 103 deg. 52.453’E
3) 01 deg. 16.865’N / 103 deg. 52.503’E
4) 01 deg. 16.824’N / 103 deg. 52.584’E
5) 01 deg. 16.684’N / 103 deg. 52.618’E
6) 01 deg. 16.620’N / 103 deg. 52.704’E

The works will include dredging and installation of steel pipes and towers. Crane barges will be utilized for the installation of steel pipes and towers. The dredgers will have a circular safety working zone of 50-metre radius centered from the dredgers. The dredged materials will be transported to designated dumping ground by barges. Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control);
and
e) Communicate with East Control on VHF Channel 12 for assistance, if required.

Layıng of submarıne cables south of Tuas Extensıon
Friday, May 24, 2019, Singapore

From 26 May to 30 June, work to lay cables will be carried out south of Tuas Extension.

According to the Marıtıme and Port Authorıty of Sıngapore Port Marıne Notıce No.045 of 2019, the work will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 12·863’N / 103 deg. 36·762’E
2) 01 deg. 12·823’N / 103 deg. 36·920’E
3) 01 deg. 12·704’N / 103 deg. 36·880’E
4) 01 deg. 12·744’N / 103 deg. 36·722’E

The work will involve the laying of submarine cables. Divers will be deployed for the work. Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.

Dredging at Kwai Tsing Container Terminals 7, 8 East & 9 North

For approximately 8 months, dredging operations [are being] carried out in the following areas:

WORKS AREA 1
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 20.687’N / 114 deg. 06.780’E
(B) 22 deg. 20.695’N / 114 deg. 06.808’E
(C) 22 deg. 20.333’N / 114 deg. 06.931’E
(D) 22 deg. 20.325’N / 114 deg. 06.903’E

WORKS AREA 2
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (E) to (I) and the adjacent shoreline:
(E) 22 deg. 19.833’N / 114 deg. 08.046’E
(F) 22 deg. 19.782’N / 114 deg. 08.064’E
(G) 22 deg. 19.643’N / 114 deg. 07.593’E
(H) 22 deg. 19.695’N / 114 deg. 07.575’E
(I) 22 deg. 19.703’N / 114 deg. 07.603’E

WORKS AREA 3
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (J) to (L) and the adjacent shoreline:
(J) 22 deg. 19.551’N / 114 deg. 07.767’E
(K) 22 deg. 19.579’N / 114 deg. 07.757’E
(L) 22 deg. 19.684’N / 114 deg. 08.115’E

The works will be carried out by a grab dredger. Three tug boats and three hopper barges will assist in the works. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

A working area of approximately 50 metres around the grab dredger will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the grab dredger.

The hours of work will be round-the-clock.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Revised traffic suspension periods
Friday, May 24, 2019, Dardanelles, Turkey

Due to a technical issue during the sinking of the caissons for Canakkale Bridge, vessel traffic in the Dardanelles will not resume, as planned, at 19:00 hours local time today (24 May), but at 06:00 hours local time tomorrow morning (Saturday 25 May).

From at 06:00 tomorrow until 10:00 on Monday 27 May, vessel traffic will be shifted to one way traffic instead of both ways. Thereafter, traffic will resume in both directions.
