Reduction of tariffs and adjustment of storage free time

The Saudi Ports Authority has announced a reduction in the handling tariff, adjustment of the storage free time for containers and reduction of Marine Services tariff for container ships at King Fahad Industrial Port in Yanbu by 32-57.5%.

The cost of handling containers in King Fahad Industrial Port in Yanbu has been reduced by 57.5%. Free storage time for import and export of empty containers has been increased to 30 days from the standard 5 days. Changes also include free storage time for full containers (Import and export) for up to 30 days.

In addition, the tariff item at Jeddah Islamic Port for loading empty containers destined for King Fahad Industrial Port in Yanbu has been reduced by 50%.

Lastly, there is also a reduction in the marine services tariff for container ships at Yanbu Industrial Port.

Dredging work off Eastern Anchorage
Monday, June 17, 2019, Singapore

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No. 58 of 2019 (a revision of Port Marine Notice No. 125 of 2018), the working period for dredging works off the Eastern Anchorage has been extended.

With effect from 15 Jun 2019 to 15 Dec 2019, works will be conducted off the Eastern Anchorage, within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

  1. 1 deg. 16.574’N / 103 deg. 52.646’E
  2. 1 deg. 16.808’N / 103 deg. 52.453’E
  3. 1 deg. 16.865’N / 103 deg. 52.503’E
  4. 1 deg. 16.824’N / 103 deg. 52.584’E
  5. 1 deg. 16.684’N / 103 deg. 52.618’E
  6. 1 deg. 16.620’N / 103 deg. 52.704’E

Works will be conducted 24 hours daily including Sundays and Public Holidays. Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

The dredgers, with hopper barges in attendance, will have a circular safety working zone of 50-metre radius centered from the dredgers. The dredged materials will be transported to designated dumping ground by hopper barges. Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:

a) Keep well clear of the working area and to not enter the working area;

b) Maintain a proper lookout;

c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;

d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control); and

e) Communicate with East Control on VHF Channel 12 for assistance, if required.
