Indonesia’s Pertamina seeks more July gasoil; Balikpapan’s CDU IV still shut

Indonesia’s state-owned oil major Pertamina is seeking 1.5 million more barrels of 2,500 ppm sulphur gasoil for July delivery, two sources who received the tender document said on Tuesday, while the larger crude unit at its Balikpapan refinery remains shut.
Through its trading arm Pertamina Patra Niaga the refiner is looking to buy three 200,000-barrel cargoes arriving in Wayame over July 11-13 and July 23-25 and in Pulau Laut over July 20-22, as well as two 300,000-barrel cargoes arriving in Kotabaru over July 13-15 and in Tuban over July 21-23.
It is also seeking three 100,000-barrel cargoes arriving in Pengagon over July 17-19 and July 27-29 and in Tanjung Gerem over July 22-24.
The tender for these cargoes closes on Wednesday with validity until Friday.
In a separate purchase tender, Pertamina is also seeking 200,000-barrel cargoes for July 22-24 and July 28-30 delivery to Jakarta. This tender also closes on June 26 with validity until June 28.
A spokesperson for Pertamina Patra Niaga did not respond immediately to a request for comment.
The refiner sought about 1 million barrels of 2,500 ppm gasoil last week via a purchase tender.
Meanwhile, the company’s crude ditillation unit (CDU) IV at its revamped Balikpapan refinery has yet to be restarted, a Pertamina refinery spokesperson said, declining to give a specific timeline.
