Med crude-Urals diffs steady, oil exports from Novorossiisk revised up for September

Urals crude differentials to dated Brent were little changed on Friday in anticipation of the first October loading dates, while the oil lifting plan for Russia’s Black Sea port of Novorossiisk port for September were revised up, market sources said.

Oil exports from the port were set to rise by 0.14 million metric tons to 2.24 million tons, or 545,000 barrels per day (bpd), after an additional cargo of 140,000 tons was added to the loading plan, the sources said.

There were no bids or offers for Urals, CPC Blend or Azeri BTC in the Platts window on Friday.

China’s crude oil imports from Malaysia surged 31% in August from a year earlier, making it the country’s second-largest supplier after Russia, customs data showed, bucking a broader trend of slowing Chinese imports.

The operator of Kazakhstan’s giant Karachaganak gas condensate field said on Friday it had cut oil output on Sept 9-15 due to maintenance and planned another round of maintenance on Sept 23-28.
