MMi Daily Iron Ore Index Report March 12 2020

According to SMM, mills profit margins for rebar and HRC hovered around 200-300yuan/mt basis an iron ore price of 90 USD/mt. Mills’ production schedules for March is expected to improve, helping prop up iron ore demand. The physical port stock quotes during the morning session fell by 5-10yuan/mt, recovering in the afternoon as sentiment improved. Some transaction prices following DCE close were flat be flat over yesterday, whilst conclud- ed transactions rose following a slow start to the week.
