Port Hedland Imports Decline by 3% in February, but Pilbara Ports Achieve 2% Increase in Throughput

Pilbara Ports Authority has delivered a total monthly throughput of 54.5 million tonnes (Mt) for the month of February 2019.
This throughput was a 2% increase compared to the same month in 2018.

The total throughput for the 2018/19 financial year to date is 459.9Mt, an increase of 1% from the same time last year.

The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 39.4Mt, of which 39.1Mt was iron ore exports. The monthly throughput was a marginal increase, of less than 1%, from February 2018.

Imports through the Port of Port Hedland totalled 163,000 tonnes, a decrease of 3% from the same month in 2018.
The Port of Dampier delivered a total monthly throughput of 14.5Mt, an increase of 5% from February 2018.

Imports through the Port of Dampier totalled 87,000 tonnes, an increase of 3% from the same month in 2018.
