Poseidon Monitoring System installed on new Perth 148 seat Passenger Ferry

Oceanic Systems (UK) Ltd are very proud to announce that the Poseidon System has been installed in the new 148 seat passenger ferry, MV Tricia in Perth, Western Australia by their Authorised Reseller Maritime Systems Australia.

Maritime Systems Australia Managing Director Steve Parsons commented “We selected the Poseidon System for its complete flexibility and ease of installation and were very pleased with the results. The system installation went very well and Oceanic’s support to assist with this meant we were able to deliver the system on time and on budget.”

The ferry was built by Dongara Marine and they commented “We were very impressed by the system and the total commitment of both Maritime Systems and Oceanic Systems to get the installation completed on time with their outstanding customer support.”

The $2.6 million, 148-seat MV Tricia has joined the MV Shelley Taylor-Smith and the MV Phillip Pendal ferrying passengers between Elizabeth Quay and Mends Street Jetty across the Swan River in Perth, WA.

After the new vessel was launched, all three ferries are now rotating through service, with the older Shelley Taylor-Smith to predominantly used as a reserve and during special events.

The MV Tricia is the first Transperth ferry to be launched in 10 years and was celebrated by inviting WA locals to enjoy her first journey.
