S.Korea’s KOMIPO buys spot LNG cargo for early April delivery – sources

South Korea’s Korea Midland Power Co Ltd (KOMIPO) bought a liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo for delivery in the first week of April in the spot market, two industry sources said on Tuesday.

The company had initially sought the cargo through a tender but cancelled the tender due to bids not meeting the required specifications, one of the sources said.

It has instead bought the cargo in the spot market, the source added.

The company paid $9.10 to $9.20 per million British thermal units (mmBtu), a second source said, though this could not be confirmed. Source: Reuters (Reporting by Jessica Jaganathan in SINGAPORE and Jane Chung in SEOUL)
