Sea Commercial Port “Yuzhny” achieved 136% of plan in July
Sea Commercial Port “Yuzhny” handled 1 million 533,6 tonnes of cargo in July 2020. It is 36% more than planned. The state stevedoring company has handled 12 million 121,8 thousand tonnes of cargo since the beginning of 2020.
72,3% of the monthly volume of cargoes is exported. The main cargo is iron ore (1 million 55,2 thousand tonnes). In addition to this, the port handled pig iron (48,3 thousand tonnes) and meal (5,6 thousand tonnes). There is a 26% increase in export cargo handling compared to July 2019.
The share of imported cargo in the total cargo turnover is 11.7%, transit – 14.2%, cabotage – 1.8%. Sea Commercial Port “Yuzhny” discharged 160,8 thousand tonnes of coke coal.
The state stevedoring company welcomed 33 vessels in July 2020 (+50% compared to the same period in 2019), including 18 Capesize vessels. Sea Commercial Port “Yuzhny” has handled 100 Capesize vessels since the beginning of 2020.
“This year we have considerable advancements in operating and economic efficiency.
Today, we are underway to change cargo handling technologies, update equipment and have increased cargo turnover. New grabs are being commissioned. All the factors, which influence the effectiveness of the new equipment, are analysed, and defects are eliminated. Improving production, maximizing income and increasing employee salaries are our priorities”, said
