SHIPTEK 2024 Celebrates Innovation and Excellence in Global Maritime Industry, Uniting Leaders in Saudi Arabia
Shiptek 2024, the premier maritime event, recently came to a close following two days of engaging discussions and awards bestowed upon key players driving the sector forward. Held on May 14th and 15th, 2024 at Sofitel The Corniche, Al Khobar, this esteemed conference united industry leaders, policymakers, and specialists for enriching conversations on the maritime industry’s changing landscape. Dr. Omaimah Bamasag, Deputy of Transportation Enablement at the Transport General Authority (TGA) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, delivered the keynote address, while Sir Sohan Roy, President of the International Maritime Club (IMC) and Founder Chairman & CEO of Aries Group, gave the presidential address. The event served as a hub for expert presentations and captivating,panel discussions covering a wide array of maritime industry topics.
Mohammed Qahtani, a renowned TedX motivational speaker, trainer, and coach, conducted a captivating and interactive leadership session, drawing from his vast experience to motivate and inspire the audience. The event culminated with the highly esteemed Shiptek International Maritime Awards, celebrating top-performing organizations and notable professionals in the industry.
Under the category of Individual Awards, Ms. Hind Alhelal – Senior Seafarer Affairs Officer, Transport General Authority (TGA) was bestowed with Young Woman Achiever of the Year (Human Resource Management) and Ms. Hadeel Khawagi – Yachts Operations, Faisal M. Higgi & Associates, won the Young Woman Achiever (Maritime Operations). Yasser Zaghloul CEO at National Marine Dredging Company won ShipTeK Personality of the Year. CEO of the Year was bestowed upon Dr. Abdullah Alahmari, CEO of International Maritime Industries (IMI).
OUTSTANDING PERFORMER OF THE YEAR was awarded to H.E. Eng. Essam Alammari, Acting Deputy for Maritime Transport, TGA. Goridah Alyami, Project Director, NEOM, won the EXCELLENCE IN PROFESSIONAL SERVICES (PROJECTS) award, Adil Zobair, Vice President, Sedres Maritime won the EXCELLENCE IN PROFESSIONAL SERVICES (MARITIME SERVICES) and Rayan Salwati, Reliability Manager at MA’ADEN won EXCELLENCE IN PROFESSIONAL SERVICES (OIL & GAS).
