Spain Industrial Production Rebounds In March
Spanish industrial production rose for the first time in four months in March at the fastest pace in nearly two years, preliminary data from the statistical office INE showed Friday.
Industrial production grew a seasonally-and-calendar adjusted 1.2 percent from the previous month, marking the strongest increase since April 2014, when output rose 1.7 percent.
The latest growth came after two consecutive month of decline and stagnation in December last year.
Energy output grew 5.2 percent and machinery manufacturing increased 1.9 percent. Among different categories, intermediate goods production rose 0.8 percent, while manufacture of durbales declined 0.1 percent. Production of non-durable goods stagnated.
On a year-on-year basis, industrial production grew 2.8 percent in March following 2.1 percent increase in February.
On an unadjusted basis, industrial production declined 1.7 percent annually, which was the first fall in five months. In February, output grew 5.4 percent.
