Suez Canal revenues expected to reach $7.8 B by end of year: Chairman

Lieutenant-General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), said on Wednesday that revenues of the Suez Canal are expected to reach $7.8 billion by the end of the year.

He added in televised statements that the number of ships that came from the south has raised more than last year’s numbers, especially since Europe is getting gas from the south instead of the north countries due to the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The navigation movement in the Suez Canal recorded, Monday new and unprecedented records in terms of daily transit statistics, achieving the highest daily transit rate, with 94 ships crossed from both directions without waiting, with a total net tonnage of 5 million tons, said Lieutenant-General Osama Rabie, head of the Suez Canal Authority.
