The impact of international students on the U.S. economy

Universities in the U.S. have a long tradition of welcoming international students. But this year will be different because of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a report by the Institute of International Education, the enrollment of foreign students at U.S. higher education institutions was down by almost half this fall.

Some 90 percent of campuses reported that foreign students deferred attendance.
