The lowest offer in the international tender from Tunisia’s state grains agency on Tuesday to purchase up to 92,000 tonnes of soft milling wheat was believed to be $$227.72 a tonne c&f for optional-origin supplies, European traders said.

No purchase has yet been made and results are expected later on Tuesday, they said.

The lowest offer was made for 25,000 tonnes and was believed to have been submitted by trading house Cargill, they said.

This was followed by offers for soft wheat in other shipment positions including $228.22, $231.70 and $230.22 all per tonne c&f.

Lowest offer for 92,000 tonnes of durum wheat also sought was $324.89 a tonne c&f followed by offers in other shipment positions of $326.29 a tonne c&f and $326.50 a tonne c&f which was offered for two shipping positions.

Lowest offer for 50,000 tonnes of barley was $209.50 a tonne c&f followed by $211.45 a tonne c&f for the other shipment position sought.

The durum and soft wheat are both sought in three 25,000 tonne consignments and one of 17,000 tonnes. The barley is sought in two 25,000 tonne consignments.

Durum shipment is sought between Dec. 10, 2019, and Jan. 25, 2020, depending on origin supplied. Soft wheat and barley shipment are both between Dec. 15, 2019, and Jan. 25, 2020, also depending on origin.

In its last reported wheat tender on Oct. 23, Tunisia bought about 75,000 tonnes to be sourced from optional origins.
