Turkey buying spot LNG to cover higher gas consumption – minister

Turkey is buying liquefied natural gas (LNG) on the spot market at higher prices to meet higher consumption levels, but is not passing all of the additional costs to consumers, Energy Minister Fatih Donmez said.

Donmez told broadcaster NTV that Turkey’s gas consumption this year was expected to be 10 bcm higher than in 2020.
