Turkey’s port in southern Mersin province to increase capacity

The country’s Transport and Infrastructure Ministry stated that the capability of a port in Turkey’s southern Mersin province is going to be increased from 2.8 million to 3.6 million twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU).

Two mega cargo ships with a length of 400 meters (1,312 feet) are going to be capable to wharf at the same time at the Mersin International Port, following implementation of the development work.

The dock capability will be improved by 1 million TEU to stand at 1.8 million TEU.

The growth project is going to be inaugurated among a ceremony to be attended by Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoglu.
