UK 1Q GDP 1st Estimate -1.5% on Quarter
The U.K. economy shrank in the first quarter as a fresh lockdown to stem the coronavirus hurt economic activity.
The economy shrank 1.5% on the quarter between January and March, the Office for National Statistics said Wednesday.
The economy has since returned to growth as restrictions eased. The Bank of England expects the U.K. economy to expand 7.25% this year.
