Ukraine. Investments to ports and transportation will continue to increase
Louis Dreyfus intends to increase investments in expansion of storage capacities.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko met with a delegation of Louis Dreyfus Company, headed by the Chairwoman of Supervisory Board of Louis Dreyfus Holding B.V., Margarita Louis-Dreyfus. In turn, Margarita Louis-Dreyfus noted that over the past four years, Ukraine had implemented positive reforms and the company felt them in its work. According to her words, in coming years the company plans to increase investments in Ukraine significantly, reports UkrAgroConsult.
The company owns elevators in Vinnytsia, Cherkasy and Zaporizhia regions. Since 2012, it has been building a port grain handling complex in Odessa port together with “Brooklyn-Kiev” LLC. The total investments in the project equal USD 104 million. The company considers a possibility of increasing investments to expand grain storage capacities. In 2017, Louis Dreyfus Company invested about USD 8 million in road infrastructure of Odessa port, and plans to invest in construction of rail cars.
Companies keep increasing private grain fleet
By 2020, “First Logistic Company” is going to purchase 400-500 new rail cars. The total investments will reach about USD 30 million. Moreover, in the long term the company plans a construction of its own silos. The owner of the company said that in 2017 the company carried more than 2 MMT of grain. This season, it plans to increase the transportation volume by 10-20%. “First Logistic Company” plans to start transporting grain to Belarus and western borders.
