Yamal LNG annual capacity seen at 18.5 mln tonmnes -Novatek CEO

The chief executive of Russia’s Novatek, Leonid Mikhelson, on Tuesday said that the final capacity of the Arctic-based Yamal LNG plant is expected to be 18.5 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year.

The plant launched in December 2017 has exceeded its planned annual production capacity of 16.5 million tonnes and expects to launch a new line with capacity of about 1 million tonnes of the frozen gas by the end of this year, Mikhelson told reporters at the International Arctic Forum in St Petersburg.
