ZeroNorth appoints Pelle Sommansson as new Chief Product and AI Officer

Maritime technology company ZeroNorth has today announced the appointment of Pelle Sommansson as its new Chief Product and AI Officer.

Pelle joins ZeroNorth from Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he was a Partner and focused on large-scale data democratisation efforts. Before his role at BCG, Pelle was Chief Data & Analytics Officer at IKEA.

Pelle also brings to ZeroNorth his experience gathered from working in innovative start-up environments that became highly valued household brands. He was Head of Product at Swedish fintech company Klarna and was a co-founder of exercise and fitness platform Strava during both companies’ rapid growth into their respective markets.

In his new role at ZeroNorth, Pelle will apply his expertise to expand the organisation’s data handling and technological capabilities. He will also focus on customer experience by identifying and leading on areas where ZeroNorth can expand its platform to support more users’ needs on their journeys to decarbonise.

He will also scale up the organisation’s use of AI and machine learning across its platform, taking advantage of algorithms and software that use the data flywheel effect to improve outcomes over time.
