China – Temporary Suspension of Import Reefer Cargo

Please be informed that with immediate effect we will temporarily stop accepting reefer bookings into Huangpu, China until further notice.

This is due to stricter custom inspection and disinfection required by local authority on food import commodities (excluding meat, seafood, dairy, fruits and vegetables which are prohibited) into Huangpu that resulted in port congestion.

As this situation is beyond Hapag-Lloyd’s control, we seek your earliest written confirmation on below options available which you would like to undertake :-

(1) Accept delivery at current port of discharge if situation allows
(2) Divert your reefer containers to another port / destination
(3) Return your reefer containers back to origin
(4) If we did not receive any instructions from you, Hapag-Lloyd reserved the rights to take necessary arrangement for your shipment

Please note that for any of the above options taken, all additional costs, risks and liabilities related to the storage or movement of the cargo after discharge will be for the account of the cargo owner.
We regret for any inconvenience caused and the terms of this notice shall be read in conjunction with and without prejudice to Hapag-Lloyd’s Bill of Lading / Sea Waybill terms and conditions and the Hapag-Lloyd tariff applicable thereto.
