China: Weekly export container shipping index drops

According to the Shanghai Shipping Exchange, China’s index of export container transport recorded a drop in the last week ending Friday, February 26.

The average China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) reached 2,059.52, fell 0.6 percent from a week earlier, according to the exchange.

The sub-reading for the South America service led the decline with a week-on-week drop of 8.3 percent, followed by that for the West East Africa service, which decreased 8 percent from the past week.
