ECB’s Muller sees a few more rate cuts after June

It is reasonable to expect the European Central Bank to cut interest rates “a few more” times by the end of the year after a first move in June, provided that the economy develops as expected, ECB policymaker Madis Muller said on Friday.

“As long as economic developments are in line with our expectations it is reasonable to expect a few more rate cuts after June by the end of the year,” Muller, Estonia’s central bank chief, told Reuters on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank spring meetings. “But when and how many will depend on how the economic situation develops as we go along.”
